Typography "I AM": Initial tests with type

Here is one of my first initial tests for my "I am" typography piece that I created in studio, we only had a limited number of spaces to work with and this meant that we had to keep our phrases short and sweet and attention grabbing. For my first phrase I used "I am TACTILE" this is another word for tactical which also means to plan things out carefully.  I figured that if there were such a font as a tactile font it wouldn't be bold and in your face, it would be simple and precise; this is what I had in mind when I was creating this phrase. I was constantly reverting back to the word and the meaning behind it which allowed me to come up with ideas on how this phrase could be presented. 

Overall I am happy with how the phrase looks, I planned to use some of the features you may find on serif fonts like stems to make the phrase look more dignified, thought out and "Tactile". 

This is my second phrase design I have created, the word I have used in the phrase to accompany "I am" is the word "Childish" I felt that this word gave me a lot of room to play with as a child like appearance is normally messy and imperfect. In a way this took the pressure of the design stage and I felt that I could really let me childlike self use the pencil. This is a very simple design which if I were to work on this would need changing and upgrading massively. I have made the font seem more childlike by not using any sort of grid and my left hand to draw most of the individual letters, I felt that this technique would allow me to create a more imperfect design which looks more childish. I have made some deliberate errors with how the letters are switched the wrong way around to make it more believable that a child has actually made this design. 

This is the third design I have created, I have used the word "MONUMENTAL" in this phrase along with "I am" to create this design, I have focused again on the word and the meaning behind it. Monumental obviously meaning something huge and epic, for this reason I have made the style of the font and whole phrase in fact very bold and looming; I felt that this captured the essence of the word and helped me describe how monumental the phrase actually is. I chose this word in the first place simply because it was the first interesting word that I thought of! I also felt that this word would be able to hold it's own and give me plenty of ideas to what the style of the phrase should appear like. I have created a 3D effect by using a perspective technique where the letter is stretched at an angle to create the effect of a 3 dimensional shape. I feel that I could develop this forward and make some great designs around this word, maybe buildings or an actual monument could be formed out of the phrase which would be very interesting.
