  • The Wolfman- Tim Hope, 1999: Computer Graphics animation that went against the “realism” of the time, simple cartoon drawings mapped in 3D studio.
  • Zeotrope- Invented by William George in 1834 this allowed the invention of Modern cinema where multiple people could experience the same animation being shown. Animation in it’s purist form.
  • Rotoscope- Max Fleischer, 1915: Apparatus of capture, used to trace live action, Koko the clown 1916
  • Cell animation- 1915, Apparatus of constancy.
  • Windsor Mccay- Gertie the dinosaur animation.
  • Commercial Cinema-  for example Pixar is the peak of animation where CGI is used over everything.
  • Realism- Everything that is real or stable where usually a character is involved.
  • Anti Realism- Very chaotic, not predictable.
  • Emile Cohl- Fantasmagorie 1908: considered to be the very first animation.
  • Bruce Bickford Prometheus Garden, 1988 produces very surreal work about cruelty and tortue which is illogical and weird.
